Purple Sweet Potatoes


Its a known fact that eating sweet potatoes is a healthier option than eating regular potatoes but did you know the purple sweet potato  is the healthiest potato variety of them all. Its purple pigmentation is naturally occurring and is packed full of antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties as well as being very good for digestion and although they are called sweet potatoes they regulate your blood sugar levels and slowly release sugar into the bloodstream.


The origin of the purple sweet potato is a mystery but one story says that a basket of them was given to an american potato farmer by an unrecognisable woman and he then began to cultivate them himself.
