Yuzu is a sour Japanese citrus fruit, used both for its juice and its aromatic rind. The Yuzu has an aroma and flavoour the is distinct from any other citrus fruit, somewhat akin to a cross between grapefruit and lime.
It is believed to have originated in centra China as a hybrid of mandarin orange and the itchang papeda. It grows slowly, generally requiring 10 years to fruit.
This particular variety comes from France, the specialist grower in Nice only produces a limited amount of fine citrus
